Welcome to our dog excursion experience!
We are proud to offer on-leash, pack excursions designed to stimulate your dog both physically and mentally. We sniff, we swim, we climb rocks, we jump over logs, we roll on the ground, and we always have a blast!
Hike Duration
The hike itself is 90 minutes, covering 2 to 3 miles, depending on terrain and conditions. Your dog will hike with up to 3 additional dogs of various sizes.
Hike locations
The program is year-round; however, we will cancel for poor weather conditions and/or unsafe temperatures (i.e. heavy/steady rain or snow, thunder & lightning, temperatures above 90 degrees and below 20 degrees).
Hike Options
We offer a morning hike OR an afternoon hike Monday through Saturday.
Times may vary slightly on Saturday.
Pickup/Dropoff Service
Transportation can be arranged for clients within a 4-miles radius of Luxe Pet Resort. Otherwise, you will be responsible for dropping your dog off at Luxe before the hike, and picking them up at Luxe after the hike.
Owners do not need to be home during the pickup/dropoff windows.
Play Group Option
If your dog passes a separate temperament test, mandatory for our daycare and/or boarding services, he/she can be dropped off at Luxe and engage in the play group before and after the hike.

Your dog must wear a collar with their most up-to-date rabies tag and dog license tag attached. We will provide the leash and harness. We use Freedom No-Pull Harnesses.
At local park and reservations including Blue Hills, Ponkapoag Trail, Stony Brook, Wilson Mountain, Allandale Woods, Lost Pond Conservation Area/Kennard Park and Needham Town Forest.
Within a 4-mile radius of Luxe Pet Resort in West Roxbury, or, in some circumstances, in close proximity to a hike location.
No. As long as you provide instructions on how to enter your property, then you don’t have to be home during the pickup/dropoff windows.
It is not mandatory; however, they will not be able to participate in the program if they show signs of aggression during the hike.
Yes. Your dog must submit an updated rabies certificate before their first hike. If you plan on utilizing other services at Luxe Pet Resort, the following vaccines are required: DHPP (Distemper), Bordetella (Kennel Cough), and a Negative Fecal Test within the last 6 months. Also, even though it is not mandatory, we highly suggest that your dog have a form of tick prevention and/or be vaccinated for tick-borne illnesses.
Yes. In Massachusetts, you must license any dog 6 months or older with your local town or city clerk’s office annually. Before your dog’s first hike, the most up-to-date dog license paperwork must be submitted in order for our facility to be in compliance with Ollie’s Law.
